Wild Mushroom Weekend

Join Jared and Michael for a weekend of mushroom hunting!  This two day workshop will take you mushroom foraging along the Front Range. Learn how to identify common early spring mushrooms, about their life cycle and ecosystems, and mushroom hunting safety.  This weekend includes:

Saturday, May 10th  9am – 4pm

Morel Foray

These delicious mushrooms are found along the Front Range. You’ll spend the day at lower elevation hunting for morels and other edible mushrooms and learn ways to cook these delicious wild mushrooms.  You might even find some early spring Oyster mushrooms too!

Sunday,  May 11th  9am – 4pm 

Snowbank Mushroom Foray

You’ll journey to higher elevations in front range mountains to look for early spring Snowbank mushrooms, Hygrophorus subalpinus.

This workshop is held outdoors. Make sure to bring layered clothing, lots of water and some snacks, as well as some decent walking/hiking shoes. A small harvesting basket, as well as a small knife and brush, is also recommended. This program is open to ages 16 and up.
